I got a puppy & got engaged.


Naturally, school is simultaneously being a bitch, but I'm showing it what's up.
And running on a serious lack of sleep, thanks to the puppy & homework. Sleeping well in those few hours, thanks to the fiance.

Well, the booooyfrien' and I have gotten pretty well settled into our new house. It's still kind of surreal, but the house is becoming more and more homey everyday. We turned in the keys to the apartment a few days ago. I know that's quite a momentous occasion for him. He's lived in apartments for about 10 years to my one-ish year. We're doing all manner of painting and other home improvements ourselves and it feels really good. It's keeping us quite busy in between our work schedules and my school schedule, but the sense of satisfaction in our achievement is totally worth it.

I like my new school a lot so far. It feels much more like college than my small private liberal arts school ever did. I'm really motivated toward my new degree plan and the career to follow. I've been seeking out internships and such. I'm not sure if anything will pan out yet, but I really want to go ahead and get my foot in the door if I'm able.

I've been pretty uninspired about photography lately, but maybe some of my drawing and design assignments will find their way on here.

I'm not taking that 3 week trip to Rome after all.
I'm not visiting Cape Breton this summer.
I'm essentially working full time, but our numbers are way down, so there's lots of weird 4 and 6 hour shifts.
I'm transferring schools. I'm basically going to be studying Graphic Design and things in that arena. It's got me much more excited that my Business Major ever did.
I haven't shot in a long time.
I still need to set a date for those bridal portraits.
I've moved in with my boyfriend.
We're house-hunting. It's a bit surreal. I'm 19.
My dad is his real estate agent.
I've gotten back into video games for the first time in about 10 years. Age of Conan ftw.

I'm visiting Rome for 3 weeks in January of '09.
I might visit Cape Breton this summer.
I'm shooting bridal portraits for a friend.
Freshman year is over on Friday.
Back to working full time shortly.

I finally have a dSLR.
And I also have a film SLR of my own!

Opie helped me get a Rebel XTi for my birthday.
My dad gave me his Minolta for my birthday, since he's gone all digital for his work.
[For the record, I'll be 19 on Sunday]

So essentially, I'm really excited to get some shooting in. I've never liked shooting portraits with my Powershot, and now I don't have to!
